Welcome

KSS SOCCER SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

High performing youth players in the Upper Island, particularly at the Select, Provincial, and/or National programs face a tremendous time-management challenge in balancing their soccer and academic demands.  These students are generally high achieving students and many experience a high level of stress in accomplishing their various responsibilities.  The Soccer Academy at Kwalikum Secondary will address the academic and athletic needs of students who either play or desire to play soccer at an elite level.

 KSS SOCCER PROGRAM VISION

  • Technical and Tactical ability is the main focus throughout the whole program.
  • Individual player development in a team concept is what every coach adapts in the training sessions.
  • The individual ability of players is demonstrated in a game and team setting.
  • The particular talent and creativity of each player will be encouraged!
  • Every age group has a written curriculum that is specific to the development of the player. All teams will be trained by appropriately licensed, professional Club coaches to properly adapt the training program provided to them by the Canadian Soccer Association
  • The coach’s long term goal is to prepare the player to successfully recognize and solve the Challenges of the game on his or her own. The coach will approach soccer with this in mind
